Art Collector's Table - House of Finn Juhl

The Art Collector's Table was designed by architect Finn Juhl for the cabinetmakers' guild exhibition stand at the Danish Museum of Art and Design in 1948.

It is a design that was part of Finn Juhl's watercolors, which represents the composition of the stand, but in the photographs of the time it is not possible to see if there were sketches since this table was never in production. It is rumored that it is due to the great complication and hours of work that its manufacture takes. Even today its production is an advanced process, with a very low degree of tolerance, where the price in every detail is vital for a good design and finish.

When closed, the Art Collector table presents a simple aesthetic, but contains a very special interior. The great richness of its details is appreciated when the table is unfolded, revealing a glass box where you can store your most precious goods, authentic works of art, perfect for collectors. It is made of American black walnut wood, with a solid frame and edges. The top is veneered to give continuity to the entire table. The glass box is mounted in a separate box also made of walnut and is removable. The details and hinges are made of brass, which make the design more special and careful.
