Gritti is a bookcase designed by Andrea Branzi for Memphis Milano. The Gritti modular shelf is one of the most iconic pieces of the Memphis Milanocollective. Conceived in 1987, it breaks with the rigidity of classic furniture and proposes a lively and playful composition. Its lacquered metal modules are assembled to form shelves, side tables and storage compartments of various heights and depths. Each block is defined by straight lines, contrasting primary colours and a play of voids and solids that energises the space. Gritti adapts to residential and commercial contexts, providing a visual focal point and versatile functionality.
The Gritti Bookstore was designed in 1981 by Andrea Branzzi.
