Freemont is a sideboard designed by Ettore Sottsass for Memphis Milano, in 1981. With its modular structure, the sideboard is characterized by a geometric design and a rich combination of colors and materials. Its straight lines and contrasting surfaces offer a mix of functionality and art, making it both a decorative and practical object.
Supported by a base of five cylindrical legs, Ettore Sottsass's Freemont seems to develop strongly from bottom to top. With its broken shapes, it branches out into space to become the visual center of the room like a new and modern tree of life. Its shapes transport us to Asia, recalling the architecture of the Japanese temples that Sottsass had the opportunity to discover on one of his many trips.
The Credenza or Freemont Sideboard was designed in 1985 by Ettore Sottsass.
