Amoebe Highback armchair designed by Verner Panton for Vitra.
It is a successful example of the type of low lounge furniture, which represents the cheerful and daring spirit of the early 70s. In the case of the Amoebe Highback, the flexible backrest arches sculpturally to the head area, where it forms a kind of canopy over the seated person. The Amoebe Highback thus conveys a sense of well-being and intimacy, even in large open rooms.
