LCM armchair designed by Charles and Ray Eames for Vitra.
This chair is made of molded laminated ash wood, in natural or black color, with a chrome metal base, which gives it greater lightness and, thanks to the contrast of both materials, gives it a special charm.
Charles & Ray Eames, 1945.
LCM = Lounge Chair Metal.
In their chair designs, the Eameses created numerous variants by combining a seat shell with different bases. Thus, at first the Plywood Group LCM was produced with a chrome-plated tubular steel frame.
The variant with leather upholstery was introduced in 1946 and was only produced in a limited edition.
Back and seat: moulded laminated ash wood, in natural or black colour. Base: chrome metallic.
