The Cesca chair is an original design by Marcel Breuer that was born from the designer's obsession with creating furniture that combines craftsmanship with the most industrial materials and processes. For this reason, Breuer combines a chrome tubular steel structure with a rattan seat and backrest in this seat.
Marcel Breuer designed the Cesca chair in 1928 looking for a union, a coordination between the artisanal and industrial worlds. To do this, Breuer creates a cantilever structure in chrome-plated tubular steel accompanied by a tensioned artisanal rattan seat with a beech wood frame. This cantilevered structure gives the chair greater comfort and flexibility and marked the world of the four-legged seat. In addition, Cesca was the first chair with a tubular steel structure and rattan seat to be mass-produced.
