The Coupè table lamp is a classic design by Joe Colombo that stands out for its large adjustable shade.
Coupè 2202 was originally conceived as part of Oluce's Spider family of lamps, sharing the same base and power of light. Its extravagant shade design allows the light beam to be directed in all directions thanks to the ingenious mechanism that attaches it to the stem. The Coupè table lamp is made of two-color aluminum.
The Coupè lamps are one of the most distinguished designs in the Oluce catalogue that stands out for the total orientation of its shade. Introduced to the world in 1967 by Joe Colombo, the Coupè table lamp was a revolutionary design at the time by incorporating an ingenious and simple mechanism that attached the stem to the shade and allowed the light to be directed in any direction. The Coupè 2202 lamp received the prestigious recognition from the Institute of Interior Designers in Chicago in 1968 and is currently part of the permanent collection of the MoMA in New York and the "Neue Sammlung" Museum in Munich.
