


The 281 Acrylic table lamp by Oluce is a 1962 design created by Gianni and Joe Colombo.
The 281 lamp by Oluce, later baptized as Acrylic, was the first project of the Colombo brothers with the Italian firm. The design of the Acrylic lamp continues to arouse the curiosity of users due to its curved methacrylate screen that allows the light to expand in a peculiar and unique way.
The Colombo 281 lamp from Oluce was born in 1962 and is the only project carried out by the two Colombo brothers. Its design arose to give shape to the artistic provocations of the authors who found in the Acrylic lamp a peculiar and at the same time fascinating lighting concept. Acrilica began to be called as such according to the popularity obtained by the use of this material as a screen. Both the shape and thickness of the methacrylate curve of the Oluce Acrylic lamp expanded the fluorescent light source contained in the base, illuminating it to the surface.
