Wooden Dolls sculptures designed by Alexander Girard for Vitra.
Wooden Dolls are wooden dolls, a real object of desire. One of the most desired collections by design addicts. Too playful or just to admire? Too admirable to play simply? In fact, simply perfect in both cases these wooden dolls by Alexander Girard.
Along with Charles and Ray Eames and George Nelson, Alexander Girard is one of the most influential representatives of post-war American design. Although the essential point of his heterogeneous work was textile design, he made countless designs, highlighting these nice little dolls, the Wooden Dolls, being partly decorative elements and partly toys that he made exclusively for personal use and enjoyment.
His intense relationship with the popular art of South America, Asia and Eastern Europe was a primary source of inspiration.
Hand-painted solid fir wood.
The dolls are supplied with a brochure and packed in a high-quality patterned wooden box.
