The Pensile Wall Shelf or Bookcase is one of the forgotten designs by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni that the firm Karakter Copenhagen has recovered and put back on the market. Despite being designed more than 50 years ago, this design is as current and attractive as the first day.
It stands out for its minimalism and elegance, shelves made of natural oak or black ash wood held by knots and ropes with a wall fixing point at the top.
From Karakter Copenhagen they have opted to produce and put back on the market the lost classic furniture that has been designed by great figures of design such as Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni.
One of these products is the Pensile Bookcase, which was originally designed in 1957, but over the years has been perfected, and was produced by Bernini in 1966.
This design seeks to create a shelf with minimal decorative expression, they are a series of shelves that Castiglioni made the decision to hang in knots and on two fixed ropes that are anchored to the wall at the same point at the top, which creates the feeling of a minimalist hanging shelf.
Today, 50 years after its launch, this bookcase or wall shelf is still very relevant, elegant, attractive and above all very Castiglioni.
