The Mini Panthella lamp emits soft and comfortable lighting. The metal version directs the light directly downwards and creates a soft and comfortable lighting due to the white painted shade inside and the reflection of the trumpet-shaped stem. The acrylic version (opal white) leaves a light, diffuse, comfortable atmosphere due to the color and downward reflection of the inner shade.

News for Verner Panton fans!

Louis Poulsen has launched a mini version of the iconic Panthella lamp with a diameter of 25 cm, reduced from the standard size of 40 cm. Panthella mini is available in a striking orange, white acrylic, black, opal, opal grey and recently in a metallic version: chrome and brass. The mini Panthella features three light intensities and the latest LED technology.

The colors come from the last project Verner Panton was working on before his death in 1998: the exhibition "Lyset og Farven" ("Light and Color"), which took place at the Trapholt Museum of Modern Art in Kolding, Denmark. Complete installation composed of eight rooms of different colors, where the furniture, luminaires and fabrics, created by Verner Panton over a period of 50 years, were framed in a holistic presentation of colors and light. Color and imagination were two key elements in Verner Panton's world and Louis Poulsen has chosen the new colors for the Panthella mini of the spectrum that Verner Panton himself had chosen for the extraordinary universe that was "Lyset og Farven".

Verner Panton developed the Panthella lamp in collaboration with Louis Poulsen in 1971, which originally wanted it to be launched with a metal shade.

While most other Danish architects and designers in the 1950s and 1960s worked with wood and other natural materials, Verner Panton's predilection for new materials saw him become a specialist in working with steel, plastic, plexiglass and fibreglass. His design work with synthetic materials was sweeping, he was a pioneer in the field of designs using circles and rounded shapes before they became the dominant style under the banner of "organic design". According to Rasmus Markholt, this is one of the reasons why Verner Panton lamps, especially the semi-spherical Panthella lamp with its trumpet-shaped base, have become a true design icon.

Since the retro wave of the '90s passed, enthusiasm for Verner Panton's lamps has been on the rise. Their products are in high demand in auction houses around the world and many requests have been received for a Panthella lamp in a smaller format, designed to be on window steps, shelves, tables or other surfaces with little space.

Verner Panton (1926-1998) was inspired by his friends Poul Henningsen and Arne Jacobsen, married and had a son with Tove Kemp, Poul Henningsen's stepdaughter and worked on projects such as The Ant in Arne Jacobsen's design studio, he was an avant-garde designer. In 1961, he left Denmark and settled in Switzerland. At that time, their products became attractive.
