Aida is Angelo Mangiarotti's table lamp for Karakter Copenhagen that simulates the sensation of floating in the air.
Its opal white acrylic glass shade visually disconnects from the black steel and aluminum base, creating an exclusive and sculptural design to add on a table or sideboard to obtain a soft, warm and ambient light.
The Italian artist Angelo Mangiarotti, renowned architect, sculptor and designer, was commissioned to create the design of the Aida lamp, which is currently produced Karakter Copenhagen. Mangiarotti shaped this table lamp by playing with the principles of his architecture, where thin and light structures support large ceilings and surfaces that almost seem impossible to support.
Its sculptural design is very current, but it is a model that was created in 1988, defying the law of gravity, creating a lamp model that seems to float in the air, the visual disconnection that occurs between the base and the shade makes it unique, as well as very decorative.
It is ideal for adding a point of ambient light on a sideboard, on a shelf or on a table.
