



The Akari E lamp from the Light Sculptures collection is designed in 1951 by Isamu Noguchi, they are a series of lamps handmade by Japanese artisans with washi paper.
The rawness of electric light is transformed, thanks to the magic of paper, into the light of our origins: the sun.
The Akari E Lamp is a design by Isamu Noguchi (1904–1988) who created the Akari Light Sculptures collection in 1951, sculptural pieces with a weightless luminosity. His interests were not limited to materials and forms; He was also fascinated by space effects and interior designs.
For these lamps-object he chose the name "akari", which means "light" and "light" in Japanese, to denote both illumination and lightness. He created a total of more than 100 models, including table, floor and ceiling lamps of various sizes.
