Sgabillo Stool and Table designed by Max Bill for Zanotta.
Sgabillo is the perfect multifunctional design furniture of good dimensions, stool, side table, shelf.., you will not want to part with it.
Sgabillo is the direct descendant of the famous Ulmer stool, designed for the new Ulm College of Design. The stool had the advantage that it was easy to transport with great stability and students could also use it as a support for their documents.
A stool of geometric and essential shapes, which even today represents a micro-manifesto of modern and functional thinking, a natural embodiment of the Bauhaus principles that inspired the designer during his training and professional life.
The design has focused exclusively on functionality. The rod gives extra strength and also serves as a handle for transport.
It can therefore be used as a versatile seat, table or a shelving element, such as a transportable container, serving as the backing tabletop. Today this stool is a design classic.
Finishes: birch veneer wood structure varnished in natural color or medium density fiberboard with anti-scratch relief lacquer in black.
