The Shadow armchair, designed by Gaetano Pesce in 2007 for Meritalia, is one of the most outstanding pieces of this designer within his radical and expressive approach. This armchair is known for its innovative manufacturing process, in which expanded polyurethane is injected into the interior of the structure, expanding and solidifying in unpredictable ways. This method, developed and perfected by Meritalia, ensures that each unit is unique in shape and detail.
The concept behind the Shadow is based on capturing the "shadow" or footprint of a body, creating a fusion between the user and the object. When seated, the armchair not only accommodates the body, but also keeps the memory of its interaction, highlighting the relationship between design and personal experience.
The Shadow armchair is composed of a structure, composed of a metal frame and an eco-leather cover, which reinforces the distinctive and artisanal character of the piece. Armchair padded with soft polyurethane foam, built without mold to adapt to the body sitting on it.

Composition: 63% PU, 29% cotton, 8% PES.
Resistance: 150,000 Martindale (EN ISO 12947-2). Fire test: BS 5852-1 cigarette.
Care and Maintenance: In case of stain, act promptly by gently rubbing the surface without damaging it. In case of light stains, wipe the surface with a damp cloth and rinse with water.
For localized and difficult stains (oil, grease, cosmetics, coffee, liqueurs, chewing gum) it is advisable to rub and then treat with a solution of mild detergent and water, rinse thoroughly. Do not soak the fabric.
The lack of speed in action makes cleaning less effective, resulting in the permanence of the marks. Light-coloured fabrics should not come into contact with coloured fabrics with unfixed dyes as the colour pigments could penetrate the surface of the fabric without being able to be removed.
