The Crate Lounge Chair, the work of Dutch architect and designer Gerrit Rietveld in 1934, was initially designed to reuse surplus wooden shipping boxes, the Crate Collection has been relaunched in a Rietveld Originals x HAY collaboration, respecting the original design.
Crate Lounge Chair armchair shares the same balanced and precise proportions to minimise production costs and optimise the assembly process. With low proportions with a slightly sloping backrest and a seat with supportive armrests and the simplicity of the chair reflect the designer's architectural style, providing functionality and comfort without absorbing space.
The Crate Lounge Chair from HAY, made of solid pine, has a water-based lacquered finish in different color options, the Crate armchair is suitable for a large number of outdoor environments and can be complemented with optional seat cushions in selected fabrics for greater comfort.
Material: Natural pine wood.
Available with an optional cushion in two models, upholstered or plain, matching the armchair and different colours.
