This model reflects Robin Day's innovative approach to the production of functional, modern and handcrafted furniture, characteristics that marked much of his career. Sturdy and easy to stack, making it ideal for both domestic and commercial spaces.
Robin Day, like the Eameses in the United States, stood out for his ability to use materials creatively in his designs. In the case of the Daystack Side Chair RD1, Day applied his knowledge of engineering and design to create a chair with a modern and functional style, something that made it stand out from its contemporaries.

Production process: The solid beech wood frame is cut by a CNC machine. The seat, backrest and backrest supports are made by pressing layers of glue-laminated sheet metal and then cut into their final shape using a CNC machine. The entire chair is then sanded and the frame is glued together.
