These wooden figures were designed and made by Girard for his home in Santa Fe, inspired by his extensive personal collection of folk art. On the one hand decorative object and on the other hand, wooden dolls were originally developed for Alexander Girard's own use.
With these two new figures, Vitra has further expanded the assortment of these iconic figures, which provide great charm to any interior. The new Wooden Doll Mother Fish & Child couldn't be more interesting because you get both figures (mother and son)
Although the essential point of his heterogeneous work was textile design, he made countless designs, highlighting these nice little dolls, the Wooden Dolls, being partly decorative elements and partly toys, which he made exclusively for personal use and enjoyment.
